A mint flavoured crunchy evening snack
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Gram / besan flour - 1 cup
- Rice flour - 1/2 cup
- Cashew nut split - 10 nos
- Mint leaves chopped - handful
- Dry chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Asafoetida - pinch
- Oil - to fry
- Salt to taste
- Mix gram flour, chilli powder, rice flour, mint leaves, cashew nuts, asafoetida and salt together
- Add one table spoon of hot oil and mix well using a spoon (this makes the pakoda crunchy)
- Sprinkle little water to make dough as the dough should not become soggy
- Heat the pan with oil for frying
- Deep fry bite size pieces of dough until golden brown
- Gram flour is rich in protein and has low glycemic index, which helps control diabetes
- Gram flour does not contain gluten and is a great substitute for wheat or all-purpose flour
- Per serving = 290 calories approximately
