Green Gram Dal Dosa (Pesarattu)

Green gram dosa is a healthy and nutritious breakfast. This dosa is very easy to make and no fermentation is needed.This dosa is traditionally prepared in the state of Andhra pradesh in India and served with ginger chutney.

  • Green gram dal - 1 cup ( soak for 6 to 8 hours)
  • Green chilli - 2
  • Dry red chilli - 2
  • Ginger - 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Oil - 1 tsp (for one dosa)
  • Salt to taste

  • Grind soaked green gram dal along with ginger, green chilli, red chilli and curry leaves
  • Use soaked water to grind the dal and add required salt
  • Grind into smooth dosa batter
  • Grease tawa with oil and pour a laddle full of green gram dal batter and spread it on the tawa add 1 tsp of oil wait for one minute and flip it to the otherside
  • You can also add chopped onions over the dosa if you prefer
  • Serve with ginger chutney

  • Dosa and soup made of green gram helps in weight reduction
  • 1 dosa = 60 calories approximately
