Ingredients - Serves 5
- All purpose flour - 1 cup
- Whole meal flour - 1 cup
- Baking soda - 1 tsp
- Sugar - 1 tbsp
- Salt - 1/4 tsp
- Oats - 2 tbsp
- Butter milk - 1 cup
Method
- Mix all purpose flour, whole meal flour, oats, baking soda, salt, sugar in a big bowl
- Pour buttermilk slowly and mix the flour
- Make it into a dough and shape it round
- Place it in the greased baking tray
- Make a small 'x' mark on the top of the dough with a sharp knife
- Bake the bread at 350 C for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
- Bread is brownish and crusty on the top but very soft on the inside
- Serve with any spread

- This bread is very low in cholesterol, saturated fat and is a good source of dietary fibre
