Wheat flour mixed with spicy spinach to make a healthy paratha
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Atta flour - 2 1/2 cups
- Cooked spinach - 1 cup
- Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
- Oil or ghee - 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Blend cooked spinach, chilli powder, turmeric powder and cumin powder in a blender or a mixer into a smooth paste
- Mix wheat flour, salt and grounded spinach together
- Sprinkle little water to make a stiff dough
- Cover and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
- Divide the dough into golf ball size portions.
- Roll one portion into a smooth ball, dip into dry flour to prevent it from sticking
- Roll dough out into a circle.
- Heat tava or skillet on medium heat and place paratha on it
- Wait until bubbles appear before flipping it over.
- Wait another 20-30 seconds, lightly smear oil or ghee on the top
- Cook until brown spots appear on both sides
- Serve hot with raita or side dish

- Spinach is also rich in vitamin C, fiber and carotenoids.
