A perfect homemade spread for the toast
Ingredients - Yields a cup
- Hulled strawberry - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
- Blend the strawberry in the blender or mixer (smooth )
- Heat the pan add blended strawberry, sugar and lemon juice
- Mix well, cook in a medium high heat until the mixture comes to boil
- Now reduce the heat to medium and cook for approximately 15 to 20 minutes or until the white bubbles disappear
- Allow it to cool and store in a clear jar
Tip - I usually make jam in small batches and use it over 10 days. If your are making in a large batch, refrigerate it for longer shelf life

- Strawberries are rich in vitamin C and also contains large amounts of anti-oxidant, anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties
- One cup = 430 calories approximately
