Mexican Tomato Salsa With Indian papad

Salsa with papad is a great starter

Ingredients - Serves 4
  • Papad - 4 nos
  • Finely chopped onions - 1 cup
  • Finely chopped tomatoes - 1 cup (deseeded)
  • Green chilli deseeded - 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice - 2 tbsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  • Olive oil - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Mix chopped onions, tomatoes, chilli, lemon juice, coriander leaves, olive oil and salt

  • Roast the papad in microwave (or deep fry the papad)
  • Spread the salsa over each papad

  • Chilli is a  thermogenic spice which naturally raises the metabolic rate
  • Tomatoes are rich in Vitamin C and B including niacin, riboflavin, magnesium, phosphorous, calcium, chromium, folate and fiber
  • Lemon juice is rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, potassium, folic acid
  • Onions contain sulfides which may lower blood lipids and blood pressure
  • Per serving = 45 calories approximately
