Raw Banana Chips

Crunchy and spicy homemade raw banana chips

Ingredients - Serves 4
  • Raw Banana - 4
  • Chilli powder or pepper powder - 1 tbsp
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Salt to taste
  • Peel the skin of the raw banana and thinly slice it using a slicer (or slice it using kitchen knife)

  • Heat the pan with oil for deep frying
  • Deep fry the slices of banana and using a ladle, gently separate the chips from each other as they fry otherwise they will stick together
  • Fry till golden brown and remove from the oil. Place the chips over a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • While it is hot sprinkle little salt and chilli powder
  • Repeat this process in batches
  • Store in a clean air tight container

Nutritional Information
  • Raw banana is high in fibre, potassium and rich in vitamins A and C
  • Per serving = 200 calories approximately
