Oatmeal Energy Bars (Eggless)

Oat flour mixed with raisins, brown sugar, flax seed and butter is a fresh homemade energy bar



Ingredients - Will yield 12 Mini Bars
  • Oat flour - 1 cup (powder the oats in a spice grinder or mixer)
  • Rolled oats - 1 1/2 cups
  • Raisins - 1/2 cup
  • Baking powder - 1 tsp
  • Brown sugar - 1/2 cup (or regular sugar)
  • Butter - 1/2 cup (room temperature)
  • Flax seed / linseed - 2 tbsp (powdered and mixed in 6 tbsp of water)
Method
  • Mix oats flour, rolled oats, raisins and baking powder in a big bowl
  • Beat butter, brown sugar and powdered flax mixed in water
  • Add dry ingredients to wet mixture and mix well
  • Grease the pan and spread the mixture
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 350 or until a tooth pick inserted in the centre comes out clean
  • Cool it before cutting into squares and store it in a air tight container

Nutritional Information
  • Flax seeds contain high levels of dietary fibre, micro nutrients and omega-3 fatty acids
  • Flax also lowers cholesterol levels
  • Oats is a good source of vitamins B & E, thiamine, riboflavin, B6 and folate
  • Oats is low in sodium and can help reduce cholesterol
  • Per serving = 185 calories approximately

  1. Yummy !! I have been looking to make a granola style bar for a long time. Are there any other ingredients that i can add to them? Thanks for the recipe :)

  2. Thanks Sandy...You can make variations by adding dry fruits, any nuts etc. Slightly reduce the sugar content and add honey to get honey flavoured bars. You can add all your favourites in them and bake:)
