Paneer Sandwich

Grated paneer, dates and coriander chutney gives all three different flavours in the sandwich




Ingredients for green chutney

  • Cilantro - 1 cup
  • Fresh mint - 1 cup
  • Roasted chana dhal - 1 tbsb
  • Green chillies - 2 nos
  • Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste



Method
  • Grind all the above ingredients with required salt into a smooth paste


Ingredients for dates chutney
  • Chopped dates - 1/2 cup
  • Tamarind paste - 1 tbsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Roasted cumin powder - 1 tsp




Method
  • Place the dates in the pan covered with water, cook until soft
  • Allow it to cool and grind it into a smooth paste
  • Pour the dates puree, tamarind paste, cumin powder and chilli powder in a pan and cook until the chutney gets thick 
For sandwich
  • Bread slice - 6
  • Grated paneer - 1/2 cup
Method
  • Take one bread slice and spread cilantro chutney
  • Cover it with another bread slice and spread a tblsp of panner on it
  • Spread dates chutney on a slice of bread and place it over the paneer






  • Heat the tava and toast the sandwich on both sides

  • Paneer is rich in protein & Calcium
  • Cilantro / coriander is rich in vitamin K 
  • Dates is an energy booster and they help produce haemoglobin
  • Each sandwich = 135 calories approximately
