Stuffed French toast (Eggless)

Brioche rolls stuffed with fruits is dipped in custard and toasted to golden brown




Ingredients - Serves 4
  • Brioche rolls - 4 (or white bread slices - 8)
  • Blue berries - 1/2 cup (or any fruits)
  • Custard powder - 2 tblsp
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Honey - 1 tbsp
  • Powdered sugar to sprinkle
  • Butter - 1 tblsp (or oil)
Method
  • Mix 2 tblsp of custard powder in 1/4 cup of room temperature milk (without any lumps)
  • In a heavy bottomed pan, heat the remaining milk and bring it to boil
  • Now add custard powder mixture and mix well until milk thickens up to medium consistency (not too thick or too thin )
  • Slit the brioche rolls on one side for stuffing
  • Stuff with blue berries & close it
  • Dip the rolls in the custard 
  • Heat tava with butter and place the dipped rolls
  • Toast the rolls till slight golden brown on both sides
  • Remove from the tava and sprinkle some powdered sugar
  • Drizzle honey on top before serving
Note - If you use white bread, stuff your favourite fruits in between two slices and just dip the bread in custard and toast till golden brown and and drizzle some honey on top.

    • Per serving = 250 calories approximately

    1. Ohhh!! Yummy...I love french toast and since we don;t use too much eggs, I always used to wonder how to make it. Can i just make it a regular french toast too, without any stuffing?

    2. Thanks Sandhya... Yes, you can make regular french toast without any fruits just drizzle some honey or maple syrup on top!!
