Avocado Cheese Sandwich

My kids love sandwiches of any kind. So I make sandwiches very often with different fillings. Avocado cheese sandwich is very healthy and quick to make on a busy day



Ingredients - serves 4
  • Bread slices - 8 (wholemeal)
  • Avocado - 2 (ripe, halved, seeded & peeled)
  • Cheese slice - 4 or (grated cheese - 1/2 cup)
  • Lemon juice - 2 tblsp
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter / oil - 1 tblsp
Method
  • Slice the avocado thinly
  • In a small bowl mix avocado, lemon juice, salt & pepper
  • Take a slice of bread, spread avocado and place a cheese slice on top
  • Cover it with another bread and toast it with butter
  • Your sandwich is ready to be served 


    Nutritional Information

    • Avocados are rich in vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, copper, phosphorus, magnesium, and potassium (you need to eat two or three bananas to obtain the potassium content of one avocado)
    • A great source of potassium,  avocado helps in controlling high blood pressure
    • Avocado is rich in fibre, protein and is also high in fat content, but  mostly monounsaturated fat which is healthy
    • Avocado has 200 calories per 100 grams and so is a best diet for people who want to gain weight
    • Per serving = 400 calories approximately
